Final Reflection~Vanity Search
My digital footprint has changed some, but not substantially. I was expecting to find more after completing so much work online. I’m sure my footprint will change over time with more exposure to online sources.
Unlike the first time, this search didn’t require as much searching to find my information. Immediately my accounts related to social media appeared, and I found more images of myself and friends this time. I even noticed a photo of some students at our city park, but not a photo including me or one that I took. It’s bizarre the connections that are made online.
My representation online is more professional than personal, and I’m okay with that. I know the importance of keeping your personal business off social media and the negative connotation it can have if misconstrued. I enjoy socially connecting with friends online, but I make sure not to say or post anything that would decrepit my digital footprint.
To improve my footprint online, I think the best way to make a larger presence will be using tools like social media more effectively. Incorporating a tool like Hootsuite is one way to provide leverage in engaging more productively.
